Oh God why the determination at this hour?

December 12th, 2008

As I made my little half-assed post previously, I got to thinking that I need to start DOING SOMETHING aside from sending out heartbeats!

So, I did.

I’m going to redo all of my artwork that is pertinent to my comic [which, I am unsure if I will ever write a story for, so it might simply be a universe, for which I will draw art] to whatever quality I can muster out of my cruddy tablet [it doesn't do straight lines so I have to zoom in REAL CLOSE in order to hide whatever 'waviness' it may impose on any lines I draw].

I am somewhat pleased with my progress so far.

Looks Like Rain

Looks Like Rain

I drew this while at the receptionist desk, covering the receptionist while she was on her lunch at my old job years ago. I still really like it.

Not much else to say. School’s almost over and I’m going to work full time immediately afterwards. Hooray for the taking care of financial burdens! :D

Sup?

To wish upon a star.

December 5th, 2008

My Belated Ode to Gygax; dragons on a Dungeons and Dragons Book along with good ol' D&D dice.

I saw a shooting star tonight.

I saw one earlier in the week as well.

If it takes two wishes to get what I want, then pretty soon the world will have Big Cat Pants flags flying at the capitol of every country, and I will reign as the Supreme Master of Earth, and things will be very, very good. Otherwise, I’ll have to do it the old-fashioned way and somehow reduce the population by 80% without having supreme power over life on Earth. Boo on overpopulation!

Filler, flashback, and mental meanderings.

Descent into Madness

I first drew this when George W. Bush was in office. It’s great how times change [so far].

Even though we have [from what I have heard] a good political forecast, with the world as it is, who knows what may come? I think of it as an exciting time, when history is being written as fast as the present becomes history. With the Intarweb and instant gratification on so many levels, it is hard to think back to the times when you didn’t have a cell phone, or even a computer [at least, I didn't until I was 17]. I drew everything BY HAND, ON TANGIBLE MEDIA. I used LAND LINES to CONTACT FRIENDS. I went TO THE LIBRARY FOR INFORMATION. I actually read on a regular basis, too. Commercials pushed their phone numbers, and the “Internet” was this weird magical thing that tied up your friends’ phone lines on their “ultra-fast” 56.6k [different from a capital K (kilobyte) which is 8 "k"s (kilobits)] topping download speeds at 4K, 5 if you were exceptionally lucky.

I read. I drew. I did stuff. I think I even did pretty damn well in school, too. Now, I have become a “user”. Furthermore, I learned the dark arts of the evil architecture of the World Wide Web and constructed WEBSITES for a living!

A Webbomancer, if you will.

But since I have had access to so much since that fateful September in 1999, when I installed my first piece of computer hardware into our way-cool 486 [money wasn't exactly pouring out of anyone's ears at that time] on a LUCKY GUESS [I bought the Viking-brand 56K modem for our computer hoping that it looked like it would fit, whatever the heck PCI was] to access AOL OF ALL THINGS, things changed. The effect was immediate. Within 6 months, I became rather proficient in typing due to the amount of chatting I used to engage in, and in the summer of 2000, I once lost 20 lbs in a week due to one meal a day, about 2-4 hours of sleep, and being on the computer for pretty much the rest of the time.

So sue me. I was young and dumb. Now I fear I may simply be the latter. After all, I’m here at 12:50 in the ol’ AM making an update, spilling to the internets a bag of beans that no one would find palatable.

Consider this a heartbeat post. Filler, if you will. Just a smidgen to keep you all aware of my existence, should anyone read this anymore. :)

Bleach, Procrastination, and other things.

November 27th, 2008

You’re the arrogant one, Espada.
But fear not.
You won’t lose because of it.
You’ll lose purely because of the gap between our powers.

-Byakuya Kuchiki

This quote is the last of Episode #196 of the Bleach series, now in its tenth season. Oh god the cliffhanger is torturing!

I haven’t updated in ages, mainly because I wanted my next update to be meaningful and, well, a drawing post of some sort, if not comic-related, then anything recent. I have come to the conclusion that my DeviantArt account is far better suited to host my gallery, so I will be removing that link in due time, or perhaps just new-window-linking it to my DA, which is the easier choice.

Random working list of terms to be used in my comic:

  • Attuned
  • Hero (unisex usage)
  • Herobreaker
  • Brixton
  • Guns of Brixton
  • Tinkers
  • The End
  • The End’s Land.
  • Existential Imperative (EI)
  • Universal Imperative (UI)
  • Top Hat Guy
  • Fairy Girl
  • Music Girl
  • UCX
  • Lucrecia Rosehips
  • The Impasse
  • Terror Engines

There are a few I may not use. I’ll start up a glossary and start defining these, in hopes that I can get a clear storyline and start producing something tangible and awesome. Wish me luck!

Oh, and happy mass turkeycide day. :)

Whew!

November 2nd, 2008

I’m rather glad Halloween is over. All of the costumes and people and just things existing kinda ticked me off during that whole ordeal. I’m in a much better mood and am eagerly awaiting the holidays. It’s always so cheery and fun during the winter time.

Comic: Still wanting writers. Midterms are eating up my time, as well as escaping the house when I can [where my tablet happens to be] so it is difficult to find time to draw. I ought to just draw the old-fashioned way and scan it in, unedited, RAW FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE.

Anyways, I’ll get to things when I get to things. This comic will take time to start, so it only makes sense that I take time in procrastinating. :)

#1: Top Hat Guy, a character of my yet-unnamed comic book universe.

October 27th, 2008

comic top hat guy art blog

Here is the Top Hat Guy, in all of his majesty. I need writers!

I’m still wavering on a few issues, such as if the gallery page is necessary. I want feedback!

I have decided that building my robot costume will be entirely unfeasible on my budget [c'mon, Google Adsense!] however, I have nothing to go to on Halloween so I’m not exactly butt-hurt. I might just hang out with E-man and rock out.

Speaking of E-man and rocking out, who would help support him and his awesome site? Details coming soon, until he gives me the approval to start spreading the word.

Note to self: I need to redo V’s navigation. FOR MONEY. Start that damn project, hashi!
